The last few weeks,

They have completely insane. Everyone sees the stuff on the surface. Yeah, I got my license a month ago. Yeah, I picked up a second job. Maybe going to a concert with my dad, going to warped tour. Going to the beach. Going to a few Giants games. Cool shit, right?

While I’m happy on a daily basis, no one sees the struggles. Sure, I laugh, I mess around and I like to be an idiot. It takes the heavy things off your mind when you can find a time to laugh. But in the last few weeks alone, things have been scary. I’ve cried on a daily basis. My mom just had surgery because doctors thought she had cancer. My aunt has been in the hospital for the last two weeks because she had contractions…. twenty weeks too early. They thought she was going to have a miscarriage… Again. On top of all that, I’m faced with talking to a lawyer every day because someone said some of the hugest, worthless lies I’ve ever heard.

See, my issue is this. People are so concerned with petty drama that they don’t look to see past that. While you’re upset over what may be the hugest incident in your mind, it’s the smallest in the other person’s, because the shit you’re complaining about can’t possibly measure up. Before you freak out about something insanely dumb, take a second to consider their perspective. Don’t yell at them, tell them it’s unfair and go on to tell everyone else about it. Because you don’t know what’s happening. Maybe you don’t know who they really are. Take a second to see things through their eyes before you turn into a stranger.
